The Moon
The Moon

One of the most important connections witches have in the magical universe in which we live and one the most obvious is the earth’s closest neighbour - the moon.
We can easily see the impact of the moon on our planet and its inhabitants.
For example, the moon’s 28-day cycle influences the ocean’s tides; higher tides usually occur during the full moon. It also affects the weather, crop growth, and animal and human fertility.
If the moon’s gravitational pull can affect the tides like it does, the fact that our bodies are made of 60% water means that it also affects the way we feel and behave.
If you are witch, the moon is your friend.
A Full Moon
The two weeks after a new moon and leading up to a full moon is called the ‘waxing’ moon. This time supports growth and expansion. Do you want to boost your income? Turn up the heat in a relationship? Get promotion at work? Then cast your spell when the moon’s light is increasing to generate growth in your life.
The time of the full moon marks a time of culmination. It allows you to start to see the results of whatever you began in the weeks before. Do your spell while the moon is full for best results in attracting things into your life. When two full moons occur in the same month, the second is called a ‘blue’ moon – this is considerably more powerful than the first full moon.
The New Moon
The two weeks after a full moon and before a new moon is known as the ‘waning’ moon. It encourages decrease.
The new moon will help you push things away. Do you want to end a relationship? Cut your expenses? Then cast your spell during this time.
When two new moons occur during the same month, it is known as a ‘black’ moon and is considerably more powerful than a new moon.
The ‘dark’ moon is the period of time each month that the moon is not present in the sky at all.
