What is a witch?

First of all, forget everything you think you know about witches and witchcraft - it’s wrong!

The pervasive image of an old, ugly woman with a cat and a pointy hat, riding a broomstick with an evil cackle is probably what you first think of when you think of a witch.

I don’t blame you, I used to think the same thing.

Decades, even centuries, of the Church, Hollywood movies and fairy stories have conditioned us to think that way.

But it couldn’t be further from the truth.

In a nutshell, a witch is someone who uses their power, along with nature and the natural laws of the universe to shape or bend reality or fate for their benefit.

I always think of that famous quote from the Terminator 2 here ‘No fate but what we make for ourselves’
